Raindrops on Roses....
Sounds a little bit like a song, doesn't it? Friday night we had a pretty lound thunder storm over Lockhart. In fact, I think most of Central and South Texas got quite a bit of fierce weather and we were blessed with only the rain, so that was nice.
Anyway, Sabbath morning I took Lilly outside around 7:am. She's 5 1/2 months old now and very inquisitive. It was a nice cool spring morning. The perfect kind where the sun is just coming up and not yet warm, but it's not too cool to be outside in shorts. - We have two red rose bushes in our front flower beds and they still had raindrops nested in their petals. I let Lilly get up pretty close to the blooms and she was able to touch them and feel the water droplets. I got a big smile and a little giggle. So, I guess she thought that was pretty cool. =*)
Wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of wonder and amazement about everything again?

We try to take advantage of that by exposing them to "new" things that aren't really that special - but because they're "new", the kids get a kick out of them. Like the time we made smores in the fireplace. The kids were SUPER excited and awed by that experience. Feeding the ducks and fish at our local botanical garden always brings out the awe and wonder in them too.
